Another week of no measurable precipitation along with many sunny days and low humidity has really decimated the snowpack. This morning I noted the snowpack is less than one and a half feet in depth and its coverage is now between just 50% to 60%. We really do need rain as it has been weeks since we saw even the slightest precipitation. Virtually all the rivers, streams and creeks are showing more open water than ice and even the lakes have begun to see some open water. The wild birds are enjoying the warmth; the moose continue to be MIA. We are no longer seeing complete nighttime darkness and our daylight is at 16 hours and 20 minutes. Without question, spring has sprung!
