Station Name: Owosso 1.0 NW
Report Date: 4/29/2024
Submitted: 4/29/2024 12:49 PM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
It's been raining a pretty good amount lately (including almost an inch this past week), but nothing seems to out of the ordinary for this time of year. The river level still appears normal but is on the high end of normal. Our yard is pretty wet with mud and standing water in places. Grass is growing very quickly now, and needs a mow, but the rain has not allowed that over the weekend... maybe tomorrow? Deer movement is low now. Frogs are appearing in the yard and peeping everywhere now. Birdseed consumption is lower this past week, especially the sunflower seed. Have been hearing a lot of White-throated sparrows this week. I notice that the dark-eyed juncos are gone too, so winter is officially over! Still a lot of tulips and daffodils, plus lots of dandelions are now growing. All the trees have leaves now, in varying stages of growth. Keeping watch in anticipation for when the trilliums bloom. Haven't had any mosquitos yet, but I'm sure we will be asking for it pretty soon.
