For the past two weeks, we have had little rain. The ground is hard and cracked. The two largest rainfalls happened in the first half of the month which accounts for most of the totaled 3.98 inches of rain we have had this month. This about 0.72 inches short of our normal average.
The vegetation appears healthy. There are still a lot of berries on our Holly Bush. The Azalea peaked in flowering this week and a number of petals have fallen. Trees are putting out leaves. Spring is here.
Our Bluebird eggs hatched two days ago and we have 5 healthy chicks in the nest. We've seen other birds check out our other nesting boxes. The pine pollen today is thick in the air. Any wind or passing car causes it to stir like powdery snow.
