Submitted 10/09/2006 5:31 PM
Taken at registered location: True
Notes: Storm started @ 3:18pm (nuc clock accuracy). Fell almost vertically but from East. Quickly shifted from the South with indicated angle. First large drops with small hail, then increased at 3:22pm to pea-sized which could be seen on the ground - average an inch between hailstones. Hail stopped @ 3:23 but light rain continued. By 3:25 all on bare ground melted. At 3:25.45 all rain stopped. The guage showed 0.05" which surprised me. (I was away from home from 6:50am until about 11am but did not re-check the guage when I got home.) Between 3:26 and 3:59 another 0.01 fell while I was away from home. I am unable to tell how many indentations there are on the pad; the pad was in good shape - smooth that is - before the storm. The pad will be turned in (Cortez) on Friday if not before.
