Notes: Winter cold front passage with strong west winds, around dawn under low clouds. Clattering sound on house skylights suggested frozen precip, but regular observation a half hour later showed only a trace of snow on ground. Bird feeders off ground preserved pellets of clear ice which likely fell as sleet, though no details of the fall were observed directly. Temperature dropped from 44 to 32 in an hour.
