Was out of town, however where I live the occupants have been taught basic hail measuring etc....
REPORT WAS MADE TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI VIA 3-WAY CALL AS THE EVENT WAS IN PROGRESS. The hail started at 5:26 PM with (cutting the visibility down to less than 1/10 of a mile) then about 6 minutes later, 2 more minutes of hail continued as the rain started up. Then the hail became intermittent for 2 more minutes then fell fast and hard for the the last 2 minutes...This concludes the description of the 10 minute hail event. 1.44 inches of rain accompanied this storm event as measured by automated and manual instruments at this location. |
