Notes: This hail report was not taken at my location. I was located about 2.2 miles northeast of town on highway 91 when I observed .75" hail covering the ground. I saw the storm on radar from my house and raced out the door to chase it. Near the subdivision of Village at East Fork I ran into hail. I stopped the car about .3 miles later and saw the penny size hail. Most hail was smaller than .75" but several stones reached this size. Hail accumulated 3-5 inches on the road and other surfaces. I unfortunately did not have a hail pad with me in the car. It is hard to note exact times, because I was driving through the storm several times trying to find the largest hail possible. However, the largest hail I found fell at about 4:20pm and was located 2.2 miles northeast of Leadville, Colorado.
