Notes: Unfortunately hail pad was not down but it would have been pummeled and smashed as plants where it had been located were completely stripped of all vegetation and only stubs were left. Damage to roof, shattered two skylights w/hail entering the home during the storm, deck rails stripped of paint. Screened in tent on deck at this station was decimated with large gapping holes even though topped with a tarp as well as the tent roof. Street flooding w/storm drain overwhelmed. Drivers on the street had to pull over because of poor visibility and high water near the drain. Hailstone samples collected varying in size from pea to golf ball sized hall with larger stones comprising most of hail. One hailstone sample showed inner pea sized core with clear ring of ice of about half inch surrounded by half inch coating of white ice. Lots of clean-up at this location—lawns totally covered with leaves and shoveling large amounts of hail off deck and ramps.
